Handheld Cordless Screwdrivers
There are some great products from the likes of
Black + Decker, Worx, Metabo HPT, Skill, and DeWalt. The one thing that we noticed is that there are 3 styles, Pistol Grip, a straight shaft grip (or as one of our researchers called it “The Lightsaber grip”), and a straight shaft grip with adjustable positioning.
There are pros and cons to each one. As an example, the BLACK+DECKER 4V MAX* Cordless Screwdriver with LED Light (Model BDCSFL20C) while having over 77% of 5-star reviews on Amazon.com some people noted in the 1-star reviews that this item will not accommodate dual-sided drill bits, has no place to store a second bit (a solution to this is many people will wrap a rubber band around it a couple of times and just slide the bit between the screwdriver and rubber band) and some issues with the battery not holding a charge after a few recharges. However, most people raved about it, especially the built-in LED flashlight that helped to illuminate tight dark areas like cabinets. The 3 position handle is also a popular feature that makes this model attractive.
The biggest drawback for these products is power. While many of them do provide adequate power for small jobs there are instances where something larger is needed. If that is your case check out our article about drills for one that would better suit your needs. You can view the article here: A Review and Comparison of Drills
